Where Tradition Meets Modernity

Our brand inspiration is the beautiful city of Tokyo, and there is more reason to that than just the fact that we are based in Tokyo and it is where Akebono was born. Tokyo to Akebono is a place where Japanese traditions and modern innovations coexist side by side, we believe that this mixture of old and new is something that is special to our homebase, and is a rare sight which can only be experienced in the streets of Tokyo.

The inspiration of Tokyo’s duality was used to create our blends. While we have traditional Japanese green tea blends since our aim is to share the highest quality Japanese green tea available, but we also have blends which use herbs, giving the traditional taste a twist. By incorporating this new twist of herbs into the traditional Japanese green tea, newer tastes and balances of teas are made from combining the green tea which has long supported the lives of Japanese people with something new and a little different. The inspiration is also seen in our packaging as it is design based on traditional Japanese kimono patterns regardless of the blend, and again this is to show that even with newer blends, it is only possible to keep creating to make modern tastes because there is the foundation of tradition which we aim to hold on to.
